This release is about getting your work out of Opus and into the rest of your business. You can now download a process definition document for any process, share processes between workspaces, and drive workflows and agents through a public API.Process discovery also gets a broad round of polish: chat can add notes, branch after a decision, and invite colleagues at any point in the process — not just the first time.

Discover

  • Your own words shape the opening step: When you describe a process in your own words instead of accepting the recommended steps, the first step now updates to match what you wrote. (v2.8-001)
  • Invite a colleague straight from a comment: Tagging someone’s email address in a comment, whether on the Canvas View or on an individual step, now invites them into the process discovery. (v2.8-002)
  • An email when you are tagged: Being tagged in a comment on a business process now sends you an email, so a question left on the canvas reaches you even when you are not in Opus. (v2.8-003)
  • Share processes between workspaces: A process discovered in one workspace can now be shared with another, so teams that work across workspaces build on each other’s work instead of starting again. (v2.8-004)
  • Export the canvas as an image: Exporting a process canvas to PNG now completes reliably. (v2.8-005)
  • Download a process definition document: Any process can now be exported as a PDD, ready to circulate to people who do not work in Opus.
  • Rename a process from its details page: Process name and description are now editable directly on the process details page.
  • Add notes to a step from chat: Opus Chat can now add comments and notes to a discovery step for you.
  • Branch into parallel steps from chat: You can now ask Opus Chat for parallel steps after a decision node.
  • Invite people from chat at any time: Inviting existing or new users through chat now works throughout the life of a process, not only on the first invite.
  • Sharper file imports: Imported documents produce a higher-fidelity draft, and the clarifying questions Opus asks in the file timeline no longer block you while it works.
  • Editing an automated process picks up where it should: “Make edits to the process” now includes the unapproval and step-picking flow after automation has started.
  • Step details replace cleanly: Replacing the detail on a step now overwrites the previous value instead of appending to it.
  • Approvals stay true: Steps no longer carry approvals forward from an earlier state, so a step never shows as approved when it is not.
  • Decision branches keep their order: Editing the target of a decision branch no longer reorders the branches.
  • Start nodes can be added and removed from chat: Adding a new start node through chat is now supported, and deleting one completes instead of stopping after the confirmation.
  • Consistent process names: Generated process names now follow one naming format throughout.
  • Fuller filtering on the process list: The process list now offers Org Level, Org Unit, Approval Date and Duration filters.
  • Collaborators start in the Interview View: Opening a new process as a collaborator now takes you to the Interview View rather than dropping you onto the Canvas View.
  • Step assignment emails open the Canvas View: The “View Process” button in a step assignment email now opens the Canvas View.
  • See everyone on a step: The Performed By field now shows avatars whether one person or several are assigned.
  • Chat confirms when a tidy-up finishes: Asking Opus Chat to tidy the layout now ends with a clear confirmation in the conversation.
  • Field locks cover process details: The locks that stop two people editing the same field at once now extend to process-level metadata in the details drawer.
  • Feedback from any chat: Chat feedback is now available.

Build

  • Long numbers survive the object builder: A string made up of digits now keeps every character when built into an object, instead of being cut short. (v2.8-006)
  • Base64 file inputs accepted: Files supplied to a workflow as base64 are now read correctly. (v2.8-007)
  • Duplicated workflows run their agents: An agent inside a duplicated workflow now runs exactly as it does in the original. (v2.8-008)
  • Token limits on agent nodes: Agent node settings now include Max Input Tokens and Max Output Tokens.
  • A clearer agent node: The agent node on the canvas has been reworked for legibility.
  • An integration picker you can scan: The integration picker is now a vertical list rather than a horizontal card scroll.
  • Code editor keys behave: Tab now accepts an autocomplete suggestion, and Esc closes the suggestion rather than the whole Node Inspector.
  • Types hold inside agent loops: Nodes executed within an agent loop now handle their input and output types correctly.
  • Workflows built from chat arrive complete: A workflow generated by the chat agent now comes through with every node connected and configured.
  • Keep talking to the agent while you edit: Issuing a command to the chat agent during a workflow edit no longer cancels the run.
  • Prompts stay put: System prompts and node prompts persist reliably.
  • New credentials activate first time: Creating a credential now completes without an activation error.
  • Generation continues onto the canvas: Workflow generation now runs as expected after you are redirected to the canvas.
  • Unresolved items hold back execution: The Execute Workflow button stays disabled while a workflow still has unresolved action items.
  • A clear word on type mismatches: Mapping an object or a list into a workflow output node now explains the type mismatch rather than failing quietly.

Run

  • A simpler contract for external reviews: Responses coming back from an external review system no longer need to carry a type field. (v2.8-009)
  • Off-platform review holds up: Sending a case out to an external reviewer no longer returns a server error. (v2.8-010)
  • Clear validation on missing type definitions: A payload missing its type definition now returns a validation error that says so.
  • Time remaining on every job: The jobs list now shows time remaining instead of a dash.
  • No repeated created date: The duplicate Created On field has been removed from workflow details.
  • Schedulers show their output schema: The scheduler details page now displays the expected output.
  • An accurate human task count: The Human Tasks heading now counts the tasks actually listed.

API

  • Workflow API: A first version of the public workflow API covers create, read, update and delete.
  • Agent API per organization: Agents can now be created and updated through the API, scoped to an organization.

Optimize

  • Faster, sharper workflow insights: Workflow insights now run against a simplified representation of the workflow, which makes them quicker to produce and more accurate.
  • A stronger default model: The default AI model behind generation and chat has been upgraded.

Govern

  • API key labels tell the truth about expiry: An API key that has passed its expiry date is now labelled as expired. (v2.8-011)
  • A clearer invitation flow: Inviting someone into an organization has been reworked end to end. (v2.8-012)
  • Only the workspaces you belong to: The workspaces list under your organization now shows just the workspaces you are part of. (v2.8-013)
  • A guard rail on deleting an org unit: Deleting an organization unit now asks for confirmation and warns you about anything that depends on it.
  • One activity entry per invitation: Accepting an org unit invitation is recorded once, not twice.
  • Retagging is recorded where you look for it: Moving resources to a new org unit is now logged in the destination unit’s activity tab.
  • Organization names follow one rule: The characters allowed in an organization name are now the same on creation and on update, and Begin Analysis explains the rule instead of showing a generic error.
  • A readable member roles drawer: The member roles drawer header no longer overlaps the details beneath it when you scroll.

Platform

  • One clear limit on feedback: The feedback field now enforces a single, clearly stated length limit.
  • Feedback on a short screen: The feedback dialog now fits shorter viewports.
